Sunday School Crafts: Make a Neckalace
Proverbs 25:11 "The right word at the right time is like precious gold set in silver."
You will need:
- sheets of purple A4 card
- scraps of paper
- hollow pasta
- heart template
- can of gold spray paint
- a length of silver elastic
- silver or gold gel pen
- scissors
- newspaper
For each child:
- Hollow pasta sprayed gold
- 40cm length of silver elastic
- small purple heart
Your preparation:
Put down lots of newspaper and spread the pasta out on it. Spray the pasta gold. Wait for it to dry, turn it over and spray the other side. From the purple card cut out a heart for each child and make two small holes at either side. Write the verse with the gel pen on both sides of the heart. Cut the silver elastic into 40cm lengths and thread a heart onto the centre of each one.
What to do:
Let the children thread the pasta on to the silver elastic from both ends until nearly full. The heart should still be in the centre. Tie the ends of the thread well and push any excess inside the pasta. Write each child's name on a scrap of paper and put the necklace on it and to one side till the end of the session.
Talk about:
We should always think about what we are saying. It is much better to be kind to each other and say nice things.
