Sunday School Lesson: Make your own cymbals
Psalm 150:5 tells us to "Praise God with cymbals."
In this quick and easy lesson you will learn how to make cymbals for your Sunday school lesson.
You will need:
- Paper plates
- pencil
- Blu-tack
- roll of aluminium foil
- marker pen
- scissors
- cord or ribbon
For each child you will need:
- 2 paper plates
- 4-6 bells
- aluminium foil
- PVA glue and spreader
- sticky tape
Your Preparation:
Using the pencil and blu-tack, make two holes approximately 8 cm apart in the middle of the plate. Cut the cord or ribbon into 12 cm lenghts, push one end through each hole in the plate and knot each end to secure. This will form a handle on the back. Write the verse on the handle side of each plate. Cut the foil into small squares approximately 4cm x 4cm.
What to do:
On the opposite side to the handle, attach an equal number of bells to each plate near the centre. Secure them with two crossing strips of sticky tape. Now cover the whole area of both plates with the silver foil, using the PVA glue.
Talk about:
God loves us to say thank you to Him, by singing and making music. Bang your symbals and sing to God.
